You could ask the Ubuntu maintainers of stunnel4 to backport version
5.56 that is now in the focal Ubuntu distribution to bionic so that you
can use the bionic-backports repository to install it. I could try to
backport it and put it in an unofficial repository of mine, but it might
be better if it is done by the actual Ubuntu maintainers; take a look at

Hope that helps; let me know if you'd like me to build an unofficial
backport anyway.
